Grace Prayer Shawl Ministry

This ministry team uses their creative talents to make prayer shawls and lap blankets for people who are ill, hospitalized, or confined to their home. Prayers are pinned to the shawls and blankets, bringing comfort as well as warmth to those who receive them. Hundreds of prayer shawls and lap blankets have been distributed to people at Mercy Hospital, Anoka Care Center, the Farmstead and others in the community.

Grace Quilters

There are now three groups of Grace Quilters, who use their creative gifts to be a blessing in the community and across the world! The Grace Quilters meet on Wednesday mornings and have distributed hundreds of quilts to the newly-baptized at Grace, people in hospitals and hospice centers, and children in foster care.

Grace Quilters 2 meets one Monday evening each month. More than 200 quilts have been sent to the precious children of Rakai, Uganda who use them in their dormitories at school. When the children were sent home because of the COVID-19 pandemic, their quilts went with them, bringing warmth and comfort in particularly difficult circumstances.

Grace Quilters 3 meets one Tuesday morning each month to tie quilts for children in Rakai and for local entities, including Anoka County Foster Care, Shriners’ Hospitals for children, and Alexandra’s House.
