Welcome to Summer Stretch!!
We are SO excited for your child to be with us this summer. Each day we will be learning and serving God in the morning, and building relationships with one another at a fun recreational event in the afternoon. A few notes regarding every week at summer stretch:
You will be receiving a summer stretch t-shirt on June 27th. Please wear your Summer Stretch t-shirt every time we meet. Second, you are responsible for bringing a lunch every week.
Please also bring a water bottle and sunscreen each week – particularly when we will be outdoors working or playing. Most weeks we will have a snack. Let us know if there are any dietary restrictions. Some locations allow for students to bring a little spending money to buy an additional snack. That is a decision between you and your child. Summer Stretch staff and adult leaders ARE NOT responsible for holding on to your child’s money or possession throughout the day.
An important note on cell phones. This year Summer Stretch will be mostly cell phone free. Students are encouraged to leave their cell phones at home. Most days cell phones will be collected in the morning at the devotional time and passed back out at the end of the day. This is to encourage students to interact with one another and make new friends. If you need to contact your child during the day please call Pastor Maria at 507-330-2471 and she can put you in touch with them. If there is a special circumstance where your child needs their cell phone for the day please contact Pastor Maria or Will Weikle.
Below is a detailed list of what we will be doing each week and what your child will need to bring. If there is a change due to the weather you will be informed as soon as possible.
In addition to this list each week you will receive an email with reminders and updates for the upcoming week.

Week 1 – June 27th
What we will be doing: Because this is the first week of Summer Stretch we ask that you walk your child into the building to check them in. For this week only registration will begin at 8:30 am and go until 9:00 am. When you check in your child we will have a chance to make sure we have all the necessary information and paperwork, double-check any weeks your child will need to miss Summer Stretch, and get your child their tee shirt and journal. You also will need to sign a few paper waivers that are required. Some of you need to pay the remaining balance of the summer stretch fee. (We will have a list of what you owe at the registration table.) You also are welcome to pay online before you arrive. After this week you are welcome to drop your child off at the door. If you can’t drop off your child this week please let Pastor Maria know asap.

VALLEYFAIR!!!!
Who’s ready for rides and water slides?!?!? Sun and Snoopy?!?!? Your child will need to bring MONEY FOR LUNCH. Please keep in mind that the food at Valleyfair is expensive and a cashless venue (for ways to pay at Valleyfair). Students will have an opportunity to go to the water park so please have them bring a swimsuit and a towel. Students are asked to wear their summer stretch shirts unless they are in their swimming suits. As always – please wear sunscreen and other sun-protective wear.
If your child has a season pass to Valleyfair please contact Pastor Maria. Using it will help keep the cost of summer stretch low for everyone.
Valleyfair is always a highlight of the summer.
