Grace joined a faith-based, collaborative organization, Mental Health Connect (MHC), as an educational partner in the spring of 2020. Through MHC, we will be able to offer a greater number of educational opportunities, typically with no charge to participants. Of course, due to COVID-19, all MHC educational programs are offered virtually.

In September and October there will be two national mental health related awareness weeks. During those weeks, for example, the prayers of the church will include a more extensive focus on mental health than usual. In October, Pr Joanna’s sermon will have a mental health component. In addition, the children’s ministry team hopes to provide kids and parents with information about coping skills during the month of October, covering topics such as emotions, mindfulness, and exercise.

Future offerings by the Mental Health Team may include a book discussion group, podcast discussion group, or another class by NAMI MN (National Alliance on Mental Illness – Minnesota Chapter).
