Our Mental Health Ministry at Grace began in January 2020. We are a group of 12 individuals with a variety of professional and personal experiences. We share a passion for mental health and for reducing the stigma around mental illness.
The vision for our ministry is: Education, Awareness, and Conversation.
By this, we mean that we focus on providing education to our congregration as we build awareness and facilitate conversations on the topic of mental illness. In having these conversations with people, we often learn and hear the words, “me too”, whether it’s on the topic of addiction, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, grief, loss, and others.
At Grace, we have several Worships centered around mental health.
April 21, 2024-Sermon on Weaving and God’s Weaving.
April 23, 2023-Worship on being welcoming.
November 6, 2022-Sermon on Grieving
Grace is a member of Mental Health Connect (MHC), a faith-based collaborative of 40 congregations in the Twin City area. MHC offers education to our Grace ambassadors and navigator services available to all. The hours are Mon.-Fri. from 9am-5pm. If it is after hours, your call or text will be followed up on the next business day. MHC Navigators help people find mental health resources. This Navigator service is free, customized and confidential.
