Join us for this 90-minute presentation on QPR – Question, Persuade, and Refer – three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide.

Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis, and it can save lives. QPR is the most widely taught “gatekeeper training” program in the United States. (Gatekeeper training teaches people to identify individuals who are showing signs of suicide risk and help them get the services they need.) This session is for anyone over the age of 16 who wants to learn best practices in suicide prevention.

Our presenter is Christopher Shaw, CPSS, CPRS, CFPS – Executive Director of the Heart and Mind Connection in Anoka. Chris works to expand a vision of the hope for recovery that can come from those who share a lived experience with mental illness and substance use challenges, both adults and children. As an advocate, speaker, trainer and facilitator, he combines his gift of humor and his commitment to combat stigma and end suicide by sharing his own story and delivering vital content across the country.
