Here at Grace our Children’s Ministry Team aims to uphold our Grace values. We accept everyone by gathering regularly to assess our programming’s accessibility for all our children’s and their family’s needs. All our volunteers are background checked, because your child’s safety matters to us. Following our mission to listen, grow and serve, we listen to the needs of our families in order that we might care compassionately. The goal of all of our special events is to deepen connections. We want parents and kids to know they are not alone. Here at Grace you have a family of faith that wants you to know you belong. We hope that our special events are not only fun but reminders of God’s love!

Trunk or Treat: The closest Wednesday to Halloween. Congregation members as well as our middle school catechism students dress up and decorate vehicle trunks for safe trick or treating. Families are invited for food and fun, food, trick or treating and games from 6:00-6:55pm before heading to worship together at 7:00 pm. There are awards for best decorated trunk!

Christmas Campout: No, not a real campout! This is a family pot luck event. Bring a dish to share. And join in the twinkling lights, pop-up tents, camped themed snacks, fun crafts, and exciting games. And don’t forget the most important part, join us around the “campfire” to hear about the first Christmas and the gift of Jesus!

Children’s Christmas Program: Each year starting in late October, early November, the Grace children’s ministry begins preparing their annual Children’s Christmas Program. This program is performed in worship during the advent season sometime in early December.  Children are invited to have a speaking or singing role. Other students can participate by singing. Rehearses on Sunday mornings during Treble Makers rehearsal and after 10:30am worship.

Valentine’s Dance: We know through our baptisms that God loves us and calls us to share that love with one another. What better way to celebrate that love than with a dance party! Kids of all ages are invited to join in the fun and bring their special people in their life, moms, dads, grandparents, and friends!

Eggstravaganza: This event is held on Palm Sunday each year and involves a giant Easter egg hunt, a meal and games. Children are split into two different age groups to ensure egg hunting is fun and fair!

We are always looking to support families and grow in our life and faith together. Other events we put on throughout the year include daycare movie nights where adults can drop their kids off for dinner and a movie at church. Summer water days are also fun events where parents can drop their kids off for a few hours of waterslide fun at Grace. If you have ideas of other great children’s ministry events, let us know! We would love to hear from you about how we can best support your family.
