Important Meeting!

There are exciting things happening in High School Ministry this year and we can’t wait to tell you all about it! Join Kristi and Tom for an important meeting for all 9th-12th grade students and their parents on Tuesday September 19th at 7:00. We will be discussing a NEW bi-monthly (twice a month) youth group, a small group designed for just juniors and seniors, special events for high school students, and the long awaited information on this summer’s travel opportunities, including the ELCA Youth Gathering. We also want to spend some time hearing from YOU about what you are interested in doing this year to help grow in your faith and grow closer to one another.
This summer Grace Lutheran’s youth will join 30,000 high school students from around the country at the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas. The Gathering is a high school faith conference that has a little for everyone including large worship services with big name bands and big name speakers. There will be a service learning day along with a day that we spend with other students from Minneapolis and a day spent doing interactive learning. Students will also participate in “community life” time where they can meet other high school students from all over the country. We will hear the stories from people in Houston along with the stories of how God has changed people’s lives around the world. The ELCA Youth Gathering is not only fun but it is also full of inspiration and seeing how God is at work in the world.
We do need your input though! We have a few big decisions to make for this trip and we need to hear your thoughts! We also will be discussing the timeline, transportation, housing, extra activities (beach day anyone?), cost, and more. Please attend the meeting and hear more about this amazing opportunity this summer.
