I am excited to announce that the What’s the Big Idea? Discussion groups are ready to go! We invite you to take the sermons one step further each week during the Fall. Here’s how it works:
- You will notice a bulletin insert each week called What’s the Big Idea? It will have:
- a short overview of the passage,
- a place to take sermon notes,
- a daily reading schedule to fill in the gaps until the next weekend,
- discussion questions for life application.
- Plan to get together with a group of people to discuss the questions. This can happen in many ways. Here are some suggestions:
- go out for a meal right after the service with a few people,
- use the questions for a family devotional time around the dinner table once a week,
- invite a co-worker to discuss the questions over the lunch break,
- form a new small group to meet once a week for an early morning coffee, lunch, or dinner.
- be creative, get connected.
- We have provided two resources to enhance this experience:
- Join the discussion group at Grace Learning Center. The lessons will provide an opportunity to listen to the sermon, access additional resources for deeper learning, and provide a digital chat room to carry on the conversation in your own time and space. I will be personally involved and monitoring this discussion, so you can have direct access to me throughout the sermon series.
- We recommend a printed resource called Life Mosaic that offers a full small group study for each text of the Narrative Lectionary (please note that we will not follow the Narrative Lectionary in October while we focus on stewardship). Order the study guide here.
This video will give you an overview of the Big Idea in September:
