Today’s reading is found in Exodus 3:1-12. Moses encounters the voice of God coming from a burning bush. God told Moses to take off his sandals because that place was now holy ground.

Notice the order of that statement. It wasn’t designated as holy ground first, so then God shows up there. Nope. It was just ordinary ground and a regular old bush. But, when God showed up there, it became holy ground.

Do you know what that means? Anywhere God is, is holy ground. Here’s something to think about. The Holy Spirit is present with, in, and around you, all the time. That means God is always with you. Think about it. That means you are always walking on holy ground. Do you treat your everyday life, and the ordinary places you walk and the people you meet as holy ground; as places and people worthy of honor?
