The January 14, 2014 Vision Board meeting was held at Alden Riley’s home.
Assumptions to Consider from the Focus 20/20 Report. Worship Concerns: During the worship service, we are not spectators. God gives, we respond. Worship is community. At Grace we have communal baptisms, “open” communion (everyone is invited to communion whether you are a member of Grace or Lutheran. Lay leaders are very important at Grace. Clergy does not dominate. We have a level playing field. When people serve, it makes them feel as if they are a minister. When we, leaders at Grace, fail to equip and train members, things become challenging and people feel they have failed. Grace is going in the right direction.
Pastor Mark showed one of five videos that may be used in the 2014 Stewardship Series entitled “Living Generously”. We will explore the five-week campaign by using films, weekend teaching and small group studies, to name a few. Holy Conversations were discussed and the anticipated next steps.
