The December 11, 2013 Vision Board Meeting was held in Pastor Mark Hellmann’s home.
Assumptions of Spiritual Formation: We, as disciples of God, want the disciples we have made to go out and make disciples to have it come full circle– where they then make disciples – to encourage independence. How is success measured? It is measured by more that the number of people in the pews, and the amount of money put in the offering plate. We need to look outside of the box. Success can be measured by how many Sunday School teachers sign up for a second year; how many people are making up for the weekends they missed (tithing). We are successful if the parishioners are doing more than just coming to church.
Men’s Ministry: Mike Schaaf will be leading the Men’s Ministry with the team consisting of Ed Beckman, Ed Stang, Jason Hoopman, Steve Hirt, Mike Russell, Daron Yates, Tom Weaver and Mark (as their adviser). The next step is working on a Vision and Mission Statement.
Holy Conversations: The Old Testament sessions have been completed. During assessment discussion between the Holy Conversations Team after the last session considered the opportunity for the congregation to address the Vision Board prior to the May vote, i.e. “open mic” to listen to the congregation.
On January 21, 2014, an informational meeting will be held at Grace Lutheran Church regarding the Annual Report. A Congregational Meeting will be held on January 25 and 26, 2014 after each of the services to vote on the budget.
